The 2025 SILMO d'Or awards honored 12 winners across key eyewear categories: designer frames, technological innovation, sports eyewear, vision solutions, and smart eyewear. Each award highlights a project remarkable for its design, technical features, or ethical commitment.
Independent labels stood out in the "Eyewear Designer" categories: Dzmitry Samal won with Luc, a poetic frame with polygonal lines and colorful resin details, while Face à Face – Design Eyewear Group – was recognized for Flare, a radical, asymmetrical sunglass with luminous geometry. VANNI claimed the "Eyewear Brand" award with Extra, a bold acetate model balancing character and comfort.
In the "Sunglasses – Eyewear Brand" category, Piero Massaro won with Tramonti di pietra, a poetic piece inspired by sunsets over salt flats. In the fashion segment, Yohji Yamamoto – via COMO – was awarded for YYSUN502, a sculptural sunglass with a micro-perforated bridge, merging luxury and experimental form.
QED Eyewear won the innovation category with PHI, a patented assembly system without glue or consumable parts—reversible, demountable, and eco-designed. In the smart eyewear segment, EssilorLuxottica stood out with Nuance Audio, discreet hearing-enhancing glasses for mild to moderate hearing loss.
Rodenstock took the Vision award with B.I.G EXACT Sensitive, biometric lenses tailored to individual visual sensitivity. In the sports category, Evil Eye Eyewear impressed with Speedsense, a wide-field performance frame with rapid lens switch technology.
